Rhinocort Aqua Nasal Spray

Rhinocort aqua nasal spray is mainly used to take care of allergic symptoms, running nose and sneezing.

The spray is mostly a sort of corticosteroid that acts shrinking swollen nasal tissues. It also blocks certain cells inside the immune system.

Rhinocort aqua nasal spray is really a type of a steroid which is used to suppress the immune system. It reduces infections and helps to control some other infections that could be more severe. Some of the common negative effects associated with rhinocort aqua nasal spray are cough, nose bleeding, sore throat and irritation of the nasal lining. There have also been reports of patients experiencing difficulties in breathing, irregular heartbeats, visual problems and fever.

Allergic reactions using rhinocort aqua nasal sprays are rare but they do occur where patients have swellings on their skins or in their throats.

Rhinocort aqua nasal spray contains the active ingredient budesonide, which is a type of medicine known as a corticosteroid (or steroid). Corticosteroids are hormones produced naturally by the adrenal glands that have many important functions, including control of inflammatory responses. (NB. Budesonide nasal spray is also available without a brand name, ie as the generic medicine.)

Budesonide is a synthetic corticosteroid and is adminstered by nasal spray to decrease inflammation in the nasal passages.

Those who suffer from nasal allergies (allergic rhinitis) such as hayfever normally experience various symptoms because of their allergy. These include a runny, itchy or blocked nose, sneezing and sinus discomfort. These symptoms are a result of inflammation inside the nasal passages.

The nasal inflammation occurs when the nasal passages are exposed to foreign particles (allergens), for example, pollen, dust mites or pet fur. The allergens cause the cells in the nose to release chemicals that produce immune and allergic responses. The nasal spray won't relieve the symptoms of nasal allergies immediately, and it can take a couple of days to have its full effect.
